Patiently Waiting....

It is Christmas morning and Zach and Elaina slept in until 8:30 A.M. an hour later than their normal wake up time. Merry Christmas Mommy Megan!!

Normally we keep the kids in their jammies and Christmas morning is a pajama party. Although Elaina's Pampers did NOT keep her dry last night as she was wet through her diaper and jammies this morning. So as I was dressing Elaina in clothes Zach decided to get dressed too.  This mommy is staying in her PJs though! (As is our neighbor I see...walking her two labs with her jammie pants tucked into her boots past our house.)

We decided to let Daddy Dave sleep in a little as he was up EARLY with the kiddos yesterday. So Zachary and Elaina are being very patient with opening their Santa gifts until Daddy wakes up. However, Santa is so smart and didn't put wrapping paper on TWO presents, one for Zach and one for Elaina so we took the bows off of those gifts after our 'snack breakfast" and are playing with those gifts as we wait for Daddy. (I'll be making brunch after Daddy Dave wakes up.)

So now as we wait for Daddy to get up on Christmas Morning the kids are watching some Caillou...

Santa brought Zach a Captain America super soft blanket!

Well I am going to post this blog post and go snuggle with the kidlets and watch some Caillou with them as we wait for daddy Dave to wake up. More photos later!

P.S. - for those of you wondering about Elaina's sweater. Yes, the sweater is another beautiful creation from my friend Carmel for our little peanut! Super cute isn't it?

Primrose Picture Day

I have to say I really enjoy school photos like this over the standard school photos with the fake backgrounds and studio lighting. Yes, I'm a big fan of natural light photography the photos just look better and are more natural.

Dave and I haven't decided if we're going to order photos from Primrose picture day as we are having professional photos taken of Elaina and Zach this week. Yes, we had professional photos of the kids in July - but this upcoming session is for Elaina's one year photos. Can you believe she's going to be ONE already?! The session doesn't cost anymore to include Zach in the photo shoot so - why not have photos taken of both kids?

Birthday Hat from Carmel!

I made a little request for an owl hat from Carmel's needles and this is the finished hat  on its' way. I LOVE the buttons Carmel found for the owl's eyes. 

Elaina will be able to wear this for her 1-year photos which will be taken in just 10 days at Carmel's mom's house actually. It looks like the weather is going to be sunny and in the 50's so perfect weather for an afternoon photo shoot! Yeah!!

Hoot!

I made a special request of Carmel to knit little Miss E an owl hat to go with the owl dress I splurged on for Elaina's one year photos. Carmel was very excited to knit a little something for Elaina.  This is what she is knitting in a Cashmere Silk Merino yarn. Only the best for Miss E! Actually, Elaina doesn't have much hair yet - so she picked her softest yarn.

Wow! Carmel is certainly a quick knitter! Me....not so much. Especially since I've only mastered the knit stitch. Okay - I've tried perling but I tend to mess it up. I just need to practice more! :)

Thanks so much for knitting Little Miss E such a cute owl hat for her photos! I can't wait to snap a photo of her in it and to post to the blog for all to see your exceptional handiwork.

Thanks Carmel!

Zach says THANKS for the hat Carmel! He was EXTREMELY EXCITED to have a package in the mail with his name on it. He said, "Hey! That's my name! That's baby Elaina's name!" No he can't read but he associates the letter "Z" with his name and the letter "E" with baby Elaina's name.

I'll take some photos of Baby Elaina in her new sweaters after she wakes up. Perfect excuse for a mommy photo session this weekend!

Zach enjoyed the bubble wrap just as much as the hat! He popped all the bubbles and then was being a goofball for the camera. He had a case of the 'tired sillies.'
