Easter Morning

In anticipation of the arrival of the Easter bunny Zach and Elaina were up early this morning.  I awoke to Zach singing songs to his little sister while she stood holding the rail of her crib and bouncing up and down with joy like Tigger.

Zach, Elaina and mommy descended down the stairs to look for what the Easter bunny may have left behind.

Zach found his Easter basket right away while Elaina found an egg filled with jelly beans. Mommy asked Zach, "where is Elaina's Easter basket?  Did the Easter bunny forget your baby sister?"

"Mommy, Elaina is NOT a baby she's a toddler. Hummm.....No mommy, look under the kitchen table!"

"There is Elaina's Easter basket and it has a lamb in it! It's cute! Look Elaina! Look!!"

I wish I would have videotaped instead - then you could hear Elaina saying, "OOOHHHHH!!! over all the bunny peeps." Too bad Elaina didn't like peeps.

Zach didn't like them either. Zach asked, "Does Aunt Dawn and Brady like Peeps?! Can we bring them bunnies?" 

All I could do is smile because Peeps are Aunt Dawn's favorite candy (according to Dave, I've never asked her what her favorite candy is). I replied, "Zach that is an excellent idea! We'll put them in a bag and bring them over to Aunt Dawn and Brady later today." 

Zach then asked, "Mommy, does Mira like bunnies too? Can we bring bunnies to Mira too today?"

"Unfortunately cousin Mira lives in North Carolina so that's a little far to go today. Mira, Auntie Brooke, Uncle Austin, and Isaac live many miles away."

Zach thinks for a bit and then says, "Do they live more than 161 miles away?"

"Yes, Zach they live almost 1000 miles away," I reply.

Zach responds, "Wow! That's really far away! Almost as far as the moon, right mommy?"

Mommy giggles, "Well the moon is a bit further away."

"oh" Zach replies.

Then Zach decided to check out what was in his Easter basket.

"Look there is candy too!"

Then Zach gave both of his bunny Kit Kat bars to me. "Mommy, you can have these they are your favorite!"  We have a very sweet boy!

Hoppy Easter!

Elaina with her pastel pink egg. Elaina dropped her egg on the floor so it cracked. So guess what Elaina had for lunch today?

We're waiting for the eggs to dry completely. Then we'll put the Tattoo's (rub-ons) on the eggs to decorate them some more. I'll add those photos to this entry once we're done. 

Easter Humor - 1

Merry Christmas!

Zach, Elaina and I were snuggled on the love seat watching The Wonder Pets when we heard a noise upstairs. Zach looked at me with WIDE eyes then said, "DADDY IS AWAKE! Can we open our presents from Santa now?"

"Yes Zach, once Daddy comes downstairs we can open your presents from Santa."

Dave was suprised that the kids were able to wait two entire hours as he slept. He fully expected all presents to be open. But what is the fun in that?!

Kids need to learn patience. If we hadn't opened gifts from Mommy and Daddy the night before then waiting two hours would have been a different story. *giggle*

Zach and Elaina looked through their stockings first. Zach was excited for the coloring books and "MANY MARKERS" as well as a Captain America book and a Superman book.

Elaina was excited for her bath toys, especially the light up ones! She wasn't so excited for the new winter hat with the velcro under her chin as she couldn't pull off the hat; but mommy thought it was GREAT!!

Then it was time to open the presents from Santa.

The Whale Rescue Mission! Zach was so excited he was jumping up and down! Way to go Santa!

Elaina had fun ripping the paper off of her gifts. Her teachers at Primrose wrapped all the large play blocks with wrapping paper for the last two weeks so Elaina has had some practice and knows what to do when it comes to wrapped presents now!

Zach checking out his pirates raft and big octopus that Santa gave him. Daddy told Zach that Santa must have talked to Grandma and Grandpa to know to get something to go with the pirate ship and fort that they gave him for Christmas.

Elaina playing with her new toy from Santa. She REALLY likes this toy - dropping in the ball and watching it roll down to the bottom. The tower goes higher but she kept tipping it over so we made is short so she could play with it while sitting on the floor.

Although, Elaina preferred taking the paper out of the box that mommy had just picked up off the floor.

Meanwhile Zach is playing Whale Rescue Mission!

Well folks it's time for this Mommy to start making Christmas brunch of bacon, eggs, pancakes and fresh strawberries, pineapple and blackberries! Nummm-mmmmeee!

Patiently Waiting....

It is Christmas morning and Zach and Elaina slept in until 8:30 A.M. an hour later than their normal wake up time. Merry Christmas Mommy Megan!!

Normally we keep the kids in their jammies and Christmas morning is a pajama party. Although Elaina's Pampers did NOT keep her dry last night as she was wet through her diaper and jammies this morning. So as I was dressing Elaina in clothes Zach decided to get dressed too.  This mommy is staying in her PJs though! (As is our neighbor I see...walking her two labs with her jammie pants tucked into her boots past our house.)

We decided to let Daddy Dave sleep in a little as he was up EARLY with the kiddos yesterday. So Zachary and Elaina are being very patient with opening their Santa gifts until Daddy wakes up. However, Santa is so smart and didn't put wrapping paper on TWO presents, one for Zach and one for Elaina so we took the bows off of those gifts after our 'snack breakfast" and are playing with those gifts as we wait for Daddy. (I'll be making brunch after Daddy Dave wakes up.)

So now as we wait for Daddy to get up on Christmas Morning the kids are watching some Caillou...

Well I am going to post this blog post and go snuggle with the kidlets and watch some Caillou with them as we wait for daddy Dave to wake up. More photos later!

P.S. - for those of you wondering about Elaina's sweater. Yes, the sweater is another beautiful creation from my friend Carmel for our little peanut! Super cute isn't it?
