I have to admit I love this tourism ad for Minnesota. I thought Joe Mauer would have been a better singer, heck he still sings better than I do. *giggle*

Team UmiZoomi is Zach's new favorite show on Nick Jr. Say what? What is Team UmiZoomi? Team UmiZoomi is NickJr's new animated, action-adventure cartoon series with an interactive approach to math. Yes, an animated series centering on math! Umizoomi's super tiny superheroes use their math powers to help preschoolers solve problems. The show incorporates interactive elements - the characters ask questions of their mini viewers in each episode, creating a "dialogue." I love that Zach is repeating his numbers, names of shapes and sequence along with Milli, Geo, and Bot. Yes, you can introduce the core concepts of counting, shapes, measurement, pattern and computations to your preschoolers through an animated cartoon and they will giggle with glee! Well at least my toddler does. I think the Wonder Pets have been replaced by this tiny trio for Zach. One of my jobs today is to reset the DVR and record Team Umizoomi instead of the Wonder Pets.I have to say I'm excited to learn some new songs - let's do the Umishake!

Okay, this last week I saw this kid on the ellen degeneres show from Northfield, MN. If you don't watch the ellen degeneres show you should - it's great!! Sorry, I digressed. Okay - the kid from Northfield, MN is on the show because of his YouTube video. I hadn't seen the YouTube video but I saw him do his bit live on the show. It was pretty cool so I thought I would find the YouTube video and share it with ya'll.
Paula Deen was also on the ellen show recently and she had a recipe that sounds so sinful that I just need to make it. Here it is....
Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding with Butter Rum Sauce
2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated) 2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained) 2 eggs, beaten 1 (9-ounce) box raisins 1 pinch salt 1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible. Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.
Butter Rum Sauce: 1 stick butter 1 pound box confectioners' sugar Rum, to taste Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.
Doesn't that just sound so sinful that the recipe must be made and tried?! Who is game to try it if I make it??
